If there is one casino that catches our eyes when we are tired of online games form vendors such as Platinum Play it is Grey Eagle Resort and Casino. Located in Calgary and featuring 84,000 square feet of gaming action ranging from over 860 slots, 40 plus table rooms and 24/7 poker, this casino is a one-stop hub for casino games and entertainment.
The great thing about this casino is its friendliness toward beginner gamblers. Each table offers a set of simple-to-read rules that are also found on its website for games such as Blackjack and typically have high payouts regardless of skill level. Players can also partake in Texas Holdem and play a few games of baccarat or roulette to diversify the night. For the high limit player who is looking to throw down some serious cash and potentially rake in even more, Grey Eagle has a high limit room featuring high limit slots and tablet games.
One of the more unique aspects of this casino is the bingo facility. Player packages start off at $10 and doors open daily at 10am. The good thing about this bingo hall is that any proceeds collected that are not won by players go to charity so even if you don’t make your money back at least what was spent on the games and drinks was donated for a good cause.
The dining experience at this top-rated Canadian hotel can also not be overlooked. The casino provides one of the country’s cheapest breakfast buffets at $4.99 plus tax while lunch buffets start at $12.99 and seafood dinner buffets at $32.99. Other restaurants featured include Little Chief, which includes a higher-end A La Carte menu filled with a wide range of fish options that come supplied from nearby fishing areas. These include mussels and scallops prepared from some of the best cooks from the area.
Meanwhile, the hotel amenities include a wide range of rooms that we think are moderately priced and modest in design. We have certainly seen more luxurious designed hotels that reflect the nature of a casino but we think that due to the beginner type feel this casino has coupled with its simple approach to providing gamblers entertainment, the rooms reflect the atmosphere quite well. There are also a wide variety of packages that people can enjoy for certain shows ranging from Cheech and Chong to Yes and many other musical acts. There are also a number of live music acts that occur nightly for much cheaper pricing. All of the rooms come equipped with WiFi, which means if you want to get online and play real money casino games for practice before entering the hall you can do so at ease.
The location of this casino is set conveniently near the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. The gambling hall offers one of the more picturesque experiences due to this location and many attendees like to couple their gambling experience with nearby sightseeing. There are also a number of wedding and conference hall facilities located at the casino in addition to golf facilities and nearby nature attractions.
Overall, we give this resort a 8 out of 10 star rating. The A La Carte menu is a bit over priced in our opinion but we loved the fact there were super cheap breakfasts. Other buffet pricing with world-renowned buffets in Las Vegas and the atmosphere is not on par, so we can’t give the casino a high rating on its overall food services, albeit providing fresh-tasting fish and steak. We do think the casino is a great place though due to its charitable efforts, unique bingo hall, easy games and wide variety of live entertainment. It is also nestled in a nice location that makes vacationing there an overall fun, entertaining and diverse experience that we would recommend for the beginner gambler and family-based experience.
